Going to school in Northwest Iowa definitely has its advantages. Here at Okoboji, we have a school that has about 300 students. To me, that's about a perfect number. I get to meet many different types of kids, without having to be with 1000 other kids. With 300 students, our school isn't so big that we don't know half of our own grade, but it isn't so small that you can have maybe ten friends and that's your whole grade. I like being a part of the Okoboji School District. No matter how many other school's taunt us, make fun of us, or beat us in a sport, we stick together and pull through. Okoboji is a small school that truly takes "No child Left Behind" to heart. I don't think I've heard or known about any student at Okoboji that has failed repeatedly with no help from anybody. Everyone here at OHS truly cares about the person next to them or the kid they're teaching. Nobody here will stand by and watch a student fail. The teachers make homecoming fun by dressing up and just having a good time. Okoboji takes education seriously, but at the same time makes it fun and relaxed. Some people may think that we are just some puny school out in the middle of nowhere with no purpose, but to us Pioneers, I think we all can say that we are proud to be ONE.
